MY
STORY
My
name is Melanie, and I have had atopic
eczema since childhood, with numerous episodes
in hospital because of infections and flare
ups. I have, in the past, used steroid creams,
sorbolene type creams and emollients, over the
counter bath and skin products and found my
eczema at times very hard to manage, and
extremely debilitating. The constant itch and
scratching, the dry scaly skin, the irritation
and redness made me very self conscious,
especially when growing up. I had it top to
toe.
In my
20’s I decided to try the diet
restrictions, organic food, natural
supplements and basically depriving
myself of every enjoyable food on the planet,
although I was healthier, I was not
completely free of eczema.
I went
on to become a registered nurse, dealing with
wounds, scars and ulcers. Then immediately
studied Clinical Aromatherapy , where I studied
the chemistry of essential oils in a scientific
way. I extended my learning and research into
skin care, my eczema in particular, learning
the anatomy and structure of the skin. My
nursing involves promoting wound care and wound
healing, care of surgical scars, and I have
worked with radiation burns in cancer
patients.
It was
then that I began mixing and blending my own
remedies/recipes at home, using essential oils
in particular dosages, in a vegetable base
cream {rather than mineral based}, and adding
various essential fatty acid oils, vegetable
oils and extracts, and experimenting on myself.
My cream has helped my eczema .
I came
up with CALMESSENCE
CALMEXEMA, a cream that helped myself
and went on to help others, with eczema.
Recently one mum said that I should sell it
online to other sufferers. Being a busy mum and
a nurse, took up my time, and I never
considered it before. I was happy making a few
pots a week for people. I have had positive
feedback and results in children’s skin, that
makes me feel it is all worthwhile. I know
exactly what they feel like, the misery, the
irritation, the itching and the
scratching,
A few
years ago I was still covered in eczema. Over
time it has improved, and today my skin is
softer and smoother all over and much
healthier. can go to the beach etc. My cream is
not a cure, and I do not claim it to be. I know
eczema can flare up at any time and there is no
cure, however, I have had no major outbreaks
for a few years now, and know it is manageable
with the right skin moisturisers. I hope my
cream can help you the same way it has helped
me. Try it in your skin care routine, and
management plan.
